Stronghold Plus spot-on is a broad-spectrum parasite treatment for use on cats. It is essentially the same product as Revolution Plus, which is marketed under different names in different parts of the world. It is produced by the same manufacturer and contains the same active ingredients.
Stronghold Plus is effective against a number of external parasites, killing adult fleas and treating ear mites and biting lice. It also kills multiple tick species including sheep ticks (Ixodes Ricinus), hedgehog ticks (Ixodes hexagonus), marsh ticks (Dermacentorreticulatus) and brown dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
Stronghold Plus is suitable for use only on cats and kittens at least 8 weeks of age, with a body weight of 2.75 lbs (1.25 kg) minimum. It has not been evaluated as safe for use on pregnant or breeding cats. Stronghold Plus is a feline-only formula and should not be used on dogs or other animals.
Dosage Schedule
Stronghold Plus topical solution is administered once a month, with the entire pipette applied as a single dose. The pipette size required is based on your cat’s body weight.

What are the side effects of Stronghold Plus?
The most common side effect reported after the use of Stronghold Plus is mild pruritis at the site of application. Less common side effects include hair loss on the treated area, skin inflammation and drooling.
What precautions must be taken?
Keep out of reach of children and other animals.
For external use only.
For the treatment of ear mites do not apply to the ear canal.
Keep the treated animal away from fire until the product has dried completely.
Do not apply to wet fur.
To not allow children to touch the animal for 4 hours after treatment.
Do not use on cat or kittens under 8 weeks of age.
Do no use on cats or kittens weighing less than 2.75 lbs (1.25 kg).
Not evaluated as safe for use on pregnant or nursing animals.
How effective is Stronghold Plus (Selamectin, Sarolaner)?
Stronghold Plus has immediate and persistent flea killing activity against new infestations for 5 weeks. The product kills adult fleas before they lay eggs for 5 weeks.
